Using high-tech in the fight against COVID-19

Amid the COVID-19 period, new technologies and products spring up in China, which have made unique contributions to the fight against the pandemic. Under the stringent lockdown measures in Wuhan and other worst-hit regions, UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion Office (ITPO) Beijing bridges high-tech companies with local governments through its collaborative networks.

Beijing Infinite Protection Company was one of the partners of ITPO Beijing. Its novel disinfection product was the first to achieve professional nucleic-acid test standards of Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC). Facilitated by ITPO Beijing, on February 22, a team of experts from the Company arrived in Wuhan with all their debuted disinfection products in stock and immediately put the hi-tech products into the frontline service. The non-toxic disinfection product employs a physical-static method. Once sprayed, it quickly forms positively charged nanothorns of silicon crystal, penetrating negatively charged molecules of viruses, killing them without harming humans or the environment, and its effect lasts at least 30 days to 3 months.

ITPO Beijing is currently focusing on establishing a “smart medicine platform for innovation and production collaboration”, to provide preparedness for the research and development, value chain infrastructure, investment promotion and technology transfer for new vaccine and medicine against the coronavirus.
