UNIDO, UNESCO and WTA discuss industry 4.0 opportunities in Daejeon, Korea

As part of WTA (World Technopolis Association) 2019 Global Innovation Forum named “Towards a Smart City from a Sustainability Context”, UNIDO organized a Thematic Special Session on Industry 4.0, Innovation and Investment on 22 Oct in Daejeon, the Republic of Korea. 

Representatives from UNESCO, Seychelles, Fraunhofer, and Shanghai Additive Manufacturing Association participated in as speakers and panelists, sharing current global trends, good practices, and exchanging views from various perspectives on how to use innovative tools and emerging technologies to promote the transformation of digital economy and create a smart and inclusive ecosystem in developing countries.

As the first collaboration following the meeting with the representatives of UNESCO and WTA in Vienna earlier this year, this thematic session brought a new technological perspective for quality, security and inclusiveness to this Forum. Meanwhile, it lays the foundation for further cooperation among UNIDO, UNESCO and WTA.
