UNIDO support for the development of world-class automotive industrial park in Nigeria
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is supporting the establishment of a world-class automotive industrial park in Nnewi, Anambra State, Nigeria, under the auspices of Okechukwu Enelamah, Federal Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, in line with Nigeria’s Industrial Revolution Plan (NIRP).
During a kick-off meeting with the Minister, UNIDO staff from Nigeria and Vienna discussed the next steps in the development of a master plan for the design of the Nnewi Automotive Industrial Park and the adjoining assessment of Nigeria’s automotive policy framework.
Activities under the project foresee close collaboration with the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) of Nigeria, which will provide further expertise in relation to the planning of an investment promotion workshop for the Nnewi Automotive Industrial Park due to take place in late April 2018.
