UNIDO special series “Making the Fourth Industrial Revolution work for all” now available online

UNIDO is excited to announce that the first four webinars of its special series on “ISID In the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution: Making the Fourth Industrial Revolution work for all” are now available on the UNIDO Knowledge Hub.

This series of expert panel discussions explore the potential and the challenges in promoting a gender-responsible, sustainable digital transformation to accelerate the realization of the 2030 Agenda. The webinars offer an in-depth examination of some of the most promising innovations and new technologies in the context of a specific set of industries, inter alia agro-industry, aeronautics, automotive, fisheries, and forestry.

The growing capabilities and raising affordability of the Fourth Industrial Revolution digital technologies—blockchain, artificial intelligence, Big Data, additive manufacturing (3D printing), virtual reality, cloud computing, wearables, and Internet of Things devices—are opening up new avenues of opportunity for advancing economic competitiveness, creating shared prosperity, safeguarding the environment and strengthening knowledge and institutions.

Comprised of a total of 12 awareness-raising webinars, the series will resume in February with a session that looks at the role of digitalization in investment promotion.
