UNIDO promotes e-learning in times of COVID-19

On 7 May 2020, the first session in a series of e-trainings was organized as part of the UNIDO project “Development of an innovation ecosystem and support infrastructure, including a Digital Education and Innovation Centre in Azerbaijan”. The online trainings and e-learning serve a practical alternative for in-person capacity building activities in times of COVID-19, thereby ensuring project continuity and the expansion of outreach to increase the number of trainees.

Organized in partnership with the Slovenian Institute of Quality and Metrology and TechnoPark Ljubljana, the training aimed to give trainers at the Innovation Agency of Azerbaijan a hands-on experience on how to use online and e-learning tools and show the practical cases of online platforms for meetings and conferences. Participants learned the vital elements of teaching and training online and were also made aware of the pitfalls and key advantages of online learning. Practical use of online-platforms and future possibilities in the world of online meetings to be held in virtual reality, including AltspaceVR, MeetinVR and Virtway, were discussed.
