UNIDO Launches Global Online Course on OECD Good Laboratory Practices

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) has launched a groundbreaking online course on OECD Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), accessible worldwide through the UNIDO Knowledge Hub. Developed under UNIDO's Global Quality and Standards Programme (GQSP), this initiative marks a significant advancement in quality management education with far-reaching implications for international trade and scientific integrity. The course addresses critical needs in the global marketplace by enhancing market access, boosting credibility of laboratory results, bridging knowledge gaps, supporting global harmonization, and advancing scientific reliability across various sectors.

This initiative builds on the success of previous e-learning tools developed in collaboration with Colombia's National Accreditation Body (ONAC), demonstrating UNIDO's commitment to scaling up effective quality infrastructure solutions globally. This initiative is poised to impact laboratory practices on an international scale, fostering a culture of quality that transcends borders and supports sustainable industrial development. The course equips laboratories with the knowledge to meet international standards, potentially opening doors to global markets and facilitating smoother international trade and regulatory compliance.
