Raising awareness on business continuity management in the context of COVID-19

On May 21, the UNIDO Global Quality and Standards Programme in Peru (GQSP Peru) in coordination with the National Quality Institute of Peru (INACAL) held a webinar to raise awareness on business continuity management - BCM (ISO 22301:2019) and organizational resilience (ISO 22316:2017). This was the first of a webinar series on relevant standards to support quality infrastructure institutions and the private sector to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on their operations.

“BCM and organizational resilience are necessary to control risk factors that are outside the organization's sphere of control, manage responses from within the company, and be in command of outage time. These two standards help businesses and institutions to be more resistant to sudden or gradual changes.”, said Jacinto González, BCM and risk management expert.

The event was a total success with a total of 233 participants, bringing together public institutions, coffee and cocoa value chains actors and participants from other economic sectors from Peru and Latin America.
