Quality Times – NQIP Newsletter, June 2018
We are pleased to share the special edition of the National Quality Infrastructure Project for Nigeria (NQIP) Quality Times newsletter. In this issue we highlight, and indeed, emphasize, the collaborative efforts involved in the work done by the NQIP: from our partnerships with the Consumer Protection Council (CPC) in planning and executing the Quality Campaign across Nigeria to the establishment of the Metrology Society of Nigeria (MSN) with joint support from the Federal Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment (FMITI) and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON).
In this milestone edition we celebrate a number of first time events in Nigeria, namely: the first GLOBALG.A.P Consultative Meeting; the first multi-agency workshop to develop a Nigerian Consumer Charter; and the first training on World Trade Organization Notification Management.
With the support of the EU-funded NQIP project, ten training centres have been established to benefit the public sector and the Organized Private Sector (OPS), with capacity building trainings for the staff of the beneficiary institutions by international recognized experts, as well training manuals. As you read the Milestones edition of the Quality Times newsletter, I invite you to celebrate the NQIP’s successes, and indeed, Nigeria’s success in establishing the fundamental infrastructural framework for trade facilitation.
