Newsletter 8 of the West Africa Quality System Programme: Highlights on recent achievements on Quality Infrastructure in the Region
The West Africa Quality System Programme (WAQSP) has just published the 8th edition of the newsletter. Available in three languages (French, English, Portuguese), the newsletter aims to inform quality actors and stakeholders on the progress made in the setting up of the Quality Infrastructure of the West African region. These milestones in the promotion of quality have been mainly reached through the development and adoption of national quality policies at country level and the different regional and national achievements in the areas of Accreditation, Metrology, Standardization, Conformity Assessment and Quality Promotion.
This edition focuses on the major activities carried out within the framework of the ECOWAS Quality Policy (ECOQUAL) as the regional Quality Infrastructure Bodies are now operational after five years of intensive efforts. Further articles on the programme activities, such as national ISO 9001 trainings, a workshop on Consumer Protection and other partner activities give the reader a good overview of the project achievements during the last few months. Good reading!
The West Africa Quality System Programme (WAQSP) is funded by the European Union in the tune of 12 Million Euros and implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
