National Quality Infrastructure in the Fight Against COVID-19

In celebration of World Quality Month 2020, Mr. Sunil Thawani, CEO, Quality Indeed Consulting, has published a short article titled “Quality Control Measures Help Pin Down COVID-19” to showcase the value and potential of Quality Management within National Quality Infrastructure.  

The COVID-19 pandemic has called attention to the critical role played by quality control, standards and National Quality Infrastructure. In this context, the article provides examples of procedures with stringent quality control requirements for collecting, handling, and testing clinical specimens for COVID-19 (as detailed in Interim Guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, USA). It also highlights the importance of applying the principles of Quality Management in routine work beyond the pandemic.
