Enhanced Competitiveness for Cosmetic Products from Ghana

From 2 to 3 March 2020, UNIDO conducted a Cosmetic Conference in Tamale, Ghana within the WACOMP Ghana (West Africa Competitiveness Programme), project funded by EU and implemented by UNIDO. The conference, was organized in partnership with the Ghana Trade Fair Company, as part of the 24th Ghana International Trade Fair and hosted over 50 Cosmetics companies and enterprises.
The key processes in cosmetic and personal care products registrations and certifications were clarified during the working sessions. Experts from Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) and renowned industry players provided detail information on quality management principles to the entrepreneurs.
Cosmetic and personal care products is one of the target Value Chain of WACOMP Ghana. The project aims to strengthen the capacity of processors, for producing high quality cosmetics and personal care products and compete in the regional and international markets.
