COVID-19: DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION & INDUSTRIAL RECOVERY

It is evident that the Covid-19 outbreak has accelerated megatrends that were already ongoing, such as digitalization of industry, and is also steepening the gradient in terms of achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Digitalization and Innovation can help to promote industrial recovery and contribute to the Sustainable Development Agenda. The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) launched a new publication which outlines the implications of the global health crisis for digital transformation and potential responses for a fast industrial recovery.

Given this context, UNIDO is addressing the rapidly-changing manufacturing landscape, in order to continue delivering the necessary services to its Member States for the achievement of inclusive and sustainable development worldwide.
