The Comorian export potential strengthened thanks UNIDO intervention

Export is fundamental for the growth of the Comorian economy and its integration in the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). In this framework, APILE project EU funded, implemented by UNIDO supports SMEs through capacity building, trainings, and upscaling in the production of quality products to be marketed nationally, regionally, and internationally.

In that context the 13th round of negotiations for the deepening of the Economic Partnership Agreement between the five countries of Eastern and Southern Africa (ESA) and the European Union was held in Moroni from March 18 to 22.  5 companies supported by UNIDO have been selected to present their products and the Comorian know-how during this major event.

AMS, Biozen, Comores Moringa, Maison Beaucor and Vaniacom seized the opportunity to showcase Comorian expertise and highlight the positive impact of the project on local entrepreneurship and the competitiveness of Comorian companies.

The participation of companies supported by the APILE project underlined the importance of private sector support initiatives in consolidating the country's position on the regional and international economic scene. This commitment was warmly welcomed by the Minister of Economy, Mr. Ahmed Ali Bazi, and the Head of the European Union Delegation Office, Mr. Pierre Beziz, who expressed their full support for efforts to promote greater economic openness for the country.

Mrs. Anazra Mohamed, the owner of the Comoros Moringa Company, stated: "I am proud of the international visibility achieved thanks to the UNIDO project, which highlights the improved competitiveness of the Comorian private sector".

Mrs. Asna Said Allaoui, manager of AMS, underlined the importance of their participation in the event: "This event aims to create new opportunities for investment, growth and employment for Comorian citizens".
