Celebrating 10 years of cooperation to improve quality and facilitate trade in Ghana

ACCRA, 18 October 2018 – The Trade Capacity Building Programme for Ghana today celebrated 10 years of activities aimed at developing a comprehensive quality infrastructure system in the country in view of improving sustainable value chains for exports from Ghana.

Held in Accra, the celebration highlighted the many achievements of the Programme, which is implemented in partnership between the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Swiss Government’s State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and Government of Ghana’s Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI), with the aim of ensuring that goods and services emanating from or traded in Ghana are designed, manufactured and supplied in a sustainable manner complying with the national and international standards. The Programme focuses on four main value chains: cocoa, fish, fruits and wood.

The event took place in the presence of the project partners and also brought together donors, UN agencies, quality and certification agencies, manufacturers and small and medium-sized enterprises that have benefited from the programme.
