CALL FOR INTEREST: Become a trainer on specific topic of Standards and Technical Regulations to contribute to the green reconstruction of Ukraine!

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is the specialized agency of the United Nations with a core mandate in industrial development. As part of its technical cooperation activities, UNIDO also supports countries in strengthening their quality infrastructure systems. 

In the context of Ukraine, UNIDO aims to contribute to the country’s recovery efforts by enhancing the capacity of key stakeholders to tackle critical reconstruction needs, with a particular focus on leveraging standards and technical regulations to fostering a greener rebuilding process. 

To achieve this, we are seeking motivated individuals who are eager to contribute to our initiative! 

We want to equip you with specialized knowledge and skills on standards and technical regulations, so that you can become one of our trainers and help us spread this expertise further, maximizing the impact of our initiatives.

· What is the capacitation about? 

The training aims to provide knowledge on the adoption and use of technical regulations and standards for green reconstruction of Ukraine. The training has three modules:

MODULE 1

 THE NATIONAL GUIDING FRAMEWORK

Overview framework of Standards and Technical Regulations for the Green Reconstruction of Ukraine

MODULE 2

FOCUS ON SPECIFIC SECTORS

 Standards and Technical Regulations in the construction, energy, and transport sectors for Green Reconstruction of Ukraine

MODULE 3

FOCUS ON SUSTAINABLE PUBLIC PROCUREMENT

Sustainable public procurement: for the Green Reconstruction of Ukraine

 

· Who can apply? 

  1. Motivational requirements: Individuals that can commit to (a) attend a capacitation to learn and acquire technical knowledge on standards and technical regulations, and (b) share such knowledge by delivering trainings.

  2. Technical requirements: Good understanding or expertise (with a willingness to deepen knowledge) in the use of standards and technical regulations in sectors such as construction, energy, transport, and/or in sustainable public procurement.

For example: 

  • Ukraine government officials or policymakers (e.g. from the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Environment, etc.)

  • Experts with experience in quality infrastructure (standardization and certification, auditors)

  • Local authorities’ officers involved in public procurement or reconstruction projects

  • Private sector representatives and independent experts interested in the topics

     

· Why attend the training? 

  1. Gain technical knowledge: You will be capacitated and will acquire technical knowledge, free-of-charge. This knowledge can add value to your professional profile.

  2. Disseminate and innovate: After the capacitation, you can immediately disseminate the knowledge acquired in your working context. 

  3. New professional opportunity and income revenueOnce certified as trainer, you will have the opportunity to apply and be engaged as a trainer within UNIDO initiatives and beyond. It would be a part-time and remunerated engagement that in most of the cases is not in conflict with other working engagements.

     

· When will the training take place? 

The training will take place in January 2025. The duration of the training is up to 5 days. 

Exact dates and the format are to be communicated once the participants are selected. 

 

· How to apply?

  1. Curriculum Vitae (max 2 pages), showing your expertise in standards and technical regulations in sectors such as construction, energy, transport, and/or in sustainable public procurement.

    2. Motivation letter (max 1 page), explaining

  • your interest to participate in the training

  • your vision on how you will use/disseminate the knowledge acquired during the capacitation 

  • confirm your availability to participate to the capacitation in January 2025

  • Confirm your willingness to be engaged as a trainer in the future
