Bali Conference discusses unlocking Industry 4.0 for Asia and the Pacific countries

BALI, November 2018 – The first Regional Conference on Industrial Development (RCID) with the theme of “Unlocking the Potential of Industry 4.0 for Developing Countries”, was held from 8-9 November 2018 in Bali, Indonesia. Co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia and UNIDO, the Conference aimed at raising awareness on the challenges and opportunities of Industry 4.0 for developing countries in Asia and the Pacific. The conference served as a platform to share good practices and lesson learned, as well as to discuss the Industry 4.0 readiness of countries in the region. The importance of regional cooperation to reap the benefits of Industry 4.0 for inclusive and sustainable industrial development was stressed throughout the conference and the Government of Indonesia affirmed its commitment to continued cooperation on the regional level.
