UNIDO, in collaboration with Australia’s Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) and the Standards and Trade Development Facility (STDF) hosted by the World Trade Organization, will be holding the Vienna Food Safety Forum 2022 on 3rd – 5th October 2022.

The VFSF 2022 will provide a platform for food safety stakeholders from the public and private sectors and academia to exchange experiences on the digital transformation of food safety practices. Participants will discuss topics including electronic exchange of health certificates, use of data generated by voluntary third-party assurance (vTPA) programmes and remote audit and inspection practices, sharing their challenges, good practices and lessons. The forum will explore the following three questions in detail:

  1. What are the most recent data-driven innovations in food safety and how can they improve existing practices?
  2. What role can public-private dialogues play in data-driven innovation in food safety?
  3. What lessons have been learned by organizations that have already undergone digital transformation, and how are they relevant for food safety practitioners elsewhere?

The VFSF will have a blended format which will allow participants to attend the event physically at the Vienna International Center or virtually via our online platform. The forum will be structured around seven plenary sessions during two and half days and streamed via Zoom in English, French and Spanish. At this stage, the registration for in-person participation is closed but you can join the event online if you register on Eventbrite site.
