UNIDO’s contribution to the International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development 2021

Thematic event "UNIDO’s contribution to the International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development 2021" as part of the 19th session of the UNIDO General Conference

  • When: 1 December 2021 at 8:20 – 9:20 a.m. (CET)

    Where: The event will be hosted on Zoom and will be accessible to all interested participants via a dedicated link. Participants registered for the Conference will receive a direct link. Those not registered to the General Conference who wish to participate in this event are requested to click here.

    Target participants: The expected participation in the side event is Government Delegations participating in the GC19.

  • In 2019 at the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly, 2021 was declared the International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development in resolution A/RES/74/198. The resolution recognized the need to promote sustained and inclusive economic growth, foster innovation and provide opportunities, benefits and empowerment for all and respect for all human rights. The resolution encourages all to observe the International Year in an appropriate manner and, in order to raise awareness, promote cooperation and networking, encourage sharing best practices and experiences, enhance human resource capacity, promote an enabling environment at all levels as well as tackle the challenges of creative economy.
