The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) are pleased to invite you to the launching event of its newest online training:
MANAGING INNOVATION IN SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISES
Wednesday, 21 July 2021, 14:00-15:00 (CEST)
The importance of innovation is reflected in the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Sustainable Development Goal 9 specifically highlights the strong interrelations between industry, innovation and infrastructure, as industry is an important source of innovation, providing the technological solutions for environmentally sound development. Innovation is integral to a country’s performance as a key driver of economic transformation, and for developing countries, in particular. For most organizations, innovation is not an option—it has become key for reaching desired business sustainability within a rapidly changing world.
Aware of these challenges and the valuable contribution innovation can make to sustainable development, UNIDO and ISO have joined forces and are launching an Online Training: Managing Innovation in SMEs. The training aims to support individuals working on innovation activities within an organization, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Comprised of seven modules, this new training introduces innovation management principles and presents those working in the area of innovation with the ISO 56002:2019 Innovation Management System – Guidance standard, a guiding tool to design, implement, maintain and continuously improve an innovation management system. The ISO 56002 is an international standard that can help SMEs to conduct their innovation projects more efficiently and effectively by supporting their efforts to develop their innovation vision, transforming their vision into an innovation strategy and to establish the support and processes to achieve their goals.
The launching event will discuss the potential, significance and challenges associated with innovation management from different perspectives and how the adoption of standards can facilitate the application of knowledge and creativity within organizations, particularly on SMEs.
Please feel free to extend this invitation to your stakeholders as you deem appropriate.
