UNIDO and the Permanent Mission of Japan to the International Organizations in Vienna are pleased to invite you to a webinar as part of the co-hosted webinar series PARTNERING FOR ISID: New challenges and opportunities for the UNIDO-Japan cooperation:

"Investment and Technology Transfer under COVID-19" & “Closing Session”

Friday, 2 July 2021, 10:00-11:45 (CET)

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected countries globally and slowed down development activities to a great extent. The pandemic has also highlighted the need to further accelerate inclusive and sustainable industrial development in UNIDO’s recipient countries. Despite the pandemic, the Government of Japan, in cooperation with UNIDO, continues to assist partner countries, in particular in mobilizing investment and technologies from Japan’s private sector.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, UNIDO’s Investment and Technology Promotion Office (ITPO) in Tokyo has switched its activities virtually to promote online seminars, delegate programmes for investment promotion, B2Bs/business matching, and has also undertaken a special programme, funded by the Government of Japan, to demonstrate selected sustainable technologies from 13 Japanese companies on sanitization and hygiene in 12 recipient countries.

This online event will attest to the results achieved under and in response to the pandemic through case studies and success stories about investment and technology promotion from Japan, through UNIDO, to partner countries.
