Trade Policy Development - EBRD

Since 2010 the EBRD has actively supported countries pursuing accession to the World Trade Organization’s Agreement on Government Procurement (WTO GPA). The EBRD launched its GPA Technical Cooperation Facility in 2012 to support countries designing negotiation strategy, and developing initial and revised GPA offers. Assistance included trade capacity-building workshops and GPA information sessions and national seminars, as well as advisers’ support during the negotiation process in Geneva. More recently, the EBRD has started to work on developing a methodology for GPA economic impact assessments to provide useful information to countries considering accession and inform negotiation strategies.
