South-South Trade and Investment Linkages

ITC promotes commercial linkages among emerging economies, developing countries and least developed countries (LDCs), with a focus on enhancing value-added trade and investment and creating partnerships between SMEs and emerging market buyers and investors.

ITC’s support embodies the transformative change that South-South partnerships can bring about, including market growth and diversification, industrial and services value chains upgrading, and transfer of appropriate technologies and innovations facilitation.

Under its South-South Initiative, ITC also works to promote triangular cooperation, pooling the resources of donor countries, emerging economies and ITC itself to catalyse trade and investment in developing countries and promote technology and knowledge sharing.

ITC works with SMEs in growth sectors with the potential for change, lead companies in the context of international value chains, investors, TISIs, business associations and knowledge hubs.
